Cal. 25-35. S# 1274351. Bbl. 20" with standard integral ramped base (grooved for hood) having dovetailed factory 103A silver bead front sight. Rear barrel sight is Marbles 95L adjustable leaf plus proper Marbles "W1" marked Flexible Joint tang sight with No. 2 disc. Records don't exist for dating as it was made during WW-II (likely first part) with long wood forend, serrated steel buttplate, checkered panel on hammer spur plus tang with Winchester markings that does not list model. Toe line of stock has drum shaped swivel base to accept Super Grade detachable swivels; front base is soldered to magazine tube. CONDITION: good to very good general appearance having areas of peppery oxidation such as at stock line along right side of forend. Occasional light marks on barrel and magazine tube finishes. Spots of peppery oxidation on bottom of lever and base of tang sight along with top rear corners of receiver. Finish appears original and as this caliber was popular in South America, it is likely that the oxidation issues are a result of the humid climate there. Buttplate has brown patina tone. Stock set has handling marks (minimal on forend and more pronounced on buttstock) plus left side flaw due to knot and small shallow gouge on right by front of tang sight base. Near excellent bright bore. (26-1955/NW). CURIO. $1,900-2,700.
